And a resonance that just about beats the living soul out of you at any prolonged journey at between 3.5 - 4k rpm. This is just my view on the Miltek system btw from the cars I have been in with it on, I personally couldn't live with it doing the amounts of miles I do, I have a constant drone from the passengers seat as it is without the car doin me head in aswell.simple1 wrote:add my two cents worth..... probably the best mod you can do to the RS4, not that there is much difference cosmetically, but it just gives soul to the V6.

More of a guideline than a limiter as it's easily ignored (most of the time)
Dont get me wrong, the miltek system sounds awesome on start up and when accelerating/decelerating through the gears in and around the town, it's just on those long journeys on main roads or motorways when your sitting constantly between 85 and 95 in top gear and want to have a nice peaceful drive. You cant switch it off like you can the radio.
As always it's down to your own personal taste wether you like it or not.

To get the best out of the full system you'll need the relevant remap, whereas you won't with the cat-back.lengster1 wrote:any advice on cats back or full system as it will be no1 on the shopping list when i finally get hold of one.noise in the cabin will be a factor as the wench will be driving it more than me,what sort of money are they?do supersprint do one for them as they are usually quiet in the cabin?
Can't comment on noise much, although the cat-back is hardly quiet, especially outside
The milltek dual for the S4, which is similar to the RS4 system, doesnt resonate as high as that.
There is a boom when its warm at around 2k-2.5k, but after that, its pretty much sweet and sounds superb.
On the motorway sat in top doing 70 or above, its silent, like OE.
TarmacTerrorist, are you sure your joints are nice and sealed?
Stainless steel zorst joints are notoriously difficlut to seal up correctly, and start leaking pretty quickly.

The worse one I have been in (for me anyway) was Eric's at Spa last year, It was really bad inside the cabin even with a helmet on. Strange though cos his sounds the nicest from the pit wall?? Followed closely by TimJms in his old Avus, even he said it could be a bit of a ball ache at times when crusing at constant speed.
There are plenty of rs4's out there with a miltek system on, lets here some comments from those owners-
