Looking for feed back regarding the Revo serial port tuning software.

I am very tempted with the SPS1 solution and have found an agent not to far from my neck of the woods that can carry out the work.

I have done a trawl through the search engine, but most of the threads get off the subject all together or turn into a "have you considered this".

Only interested in REVO responses good or bad.
Cheers fc

ps I am sure i read somewhere that an updated code for the RS4 was due out soon, any idea if it is out or still being worked on?

Revo offer very good senarios for owners who dont want to jepordise the warranty on the cars, excellent serial porting at attractive prices.
Call Revo Kev or Mitch to make it happen

Thanks for the replys Darren and John.

Before i go for the trial software,i am on Friday taking the car down to Starperformance in Fife to get it on their MAHA 4x4 rolling road to see what my stock RS4 is producing.

Next step is trial software, and all being well, will have the full file installed with SPS1 asap.

Back on the rolling road to check what the car is producing post Revo installation and report on the results.

Am also looking at the Revo SPS1 option, does anyone know what levels of power this first stage gets for £149? Can't seem to find the info anywhere! Can only find the table that shows the 430bhp for £899 but with no explanation of weather this is SPS 1,2 or 3?? Apologies in advance if I'm being thick.

I think you'll find it's the SPS device that costs 149, not the code.....the code is (I think!) the same price no matter which SPS you choose....the different SPS's just give you more control over the settings and additional functionality such as the anti-theft settings....

As far as i know REVO only do 1 software upgrade for the RS4 ie 430bhp.

SPS 1,2,3 refers to the different switching options.

sps1 cost is 149+vat and switches between stock/standard setting and revo setting.

Phone revo up.....very helpfull

Hehehe....

As for the new version.....there is a new version of code, although whether it's officially released I'm not sure. Again, phoning Revo would be the best way to confirm...

I like the Revo solution, especially the anti-theft setting which i've used quite a bit (leaving the car at airport car park.....occasional dodgy area etc).

The new version is nice and progressive, haven't pushed the boost settings too much yet...

Well here you go, I bought an rs4 a year ago had it for 6 months then put the up to date revo s/w on it and wow did it change the car. The revo code on the car costs £1000 and the sps1 dongle costs £175 inc vat. had the car tested and it produces just shy of 420 bhp and 565 foot pounds of toque with a nice smooth torque curve. I looked at many option and went with revo due to warranty etc and most of all the ease it took 5 mins. Since then I have put the tanoga short shifter in and thats well worth doing also just fitted milltek exhaust. I will try and scan the dyno test on to the system so you can see.

In short the revo is good value, great power and more sensible from a warranty point of view. I wouldnt change it for the world. Please feel free to PM if you want any more info.
