Have just recieved a phone call from the company I was supposed to be picking my RS4 up form TOMORROW saying that the VIN no on the car is different to that on the V5  and they are returning the car to it's previous owner!! How pissed off am I................... You would have thought this would have been checked before the car was placed on sale??????

Anyone know where I can buy an RS4 for around 32K?

Very down in the dumps

Paul

Wow that's not Good. Shouldn't the Police or DVLA be involved with something like this?

I know this could be a simple mistake. But it could also be one of the stolen cars we have heard about!

Re another RS4. the usual Autotrader, Audi's own used car stock list. Exchange and Mart, Fontain. The For Sale section on here!

The DVLA have already been notified by myself....

The car I was buying was from Fontain!! But thanks for the other options, Audi's own network is too expensive i'll either go private or trade...

Cheers

Don't be to pissed!!! If you had purchased it and it was stolen etc, they usually take the car back right away!!!

I've seen it happen!

If you purchase private run all checks on the vehicle first, best way.

That will be a cheap car in about a month's time, and will be on Q plate unless the original dealer can prove it was Swansea's fault..........

If your buying private get an AA or RAC inspection you have a come back with them something like at least £10K limited liability. + If your looking for finance or even if your not their loans include a free inspection. Be warned an inspection for 4x4 car is approx £100 more than a normal car. I think the AA want £220 for a full 4x4 inspection. very comprehensive and it includes the full histrory check which will normally set you back £35. Of course there's always £100 to a decent Audi tech or Audi specialist to check over any prospective car.

Even if you think you know about cars its always wise to take a friend with as much knowledge as yourself. I been caught a couple of times. Where on reflection I've bought something because I either trusted the individual or really wanted the car.

dvla are f*cking useless it may well be their mistake or if not them or the police are still rarely interested no mater how many times you tell them.vehicles are no longer recovered or Q plated as the police dont have room for them all.but as said earlier better to find out now, full marks to fontain most dealers would of sold it anyway.
