i have been in my first rs 4 today :)

and i decided to check how much space there is for passengers in the rear seats - and its so cramed! you need to b seriously short to fit in there! and to get out you always catch the side of the car with ur foot!

does anyone agree with me?

You get used to the side steps. At first it is a serious problem, as you need to step out of the car.

Yes the rear is small, like all A4s, practically Golf-sized. If you want real space, you need to look at RS6. Then again, compared to M3 or 911 it is real spacious and usable.

What you doing sat in the back? Bit tricky to drive from there
As I am only a sort arse, the rear seat passengers don't have too much of a hard time.

Yep, I used to have an A4. My next car was an A6, followed by the RS6. Much more space in the 6! :)

The B5 A4 platform was always hammered for not having much space in the back. If people start to moan that it's cramped, I'd tell them to get out and walk :D

I've found that if you pull the seat fwd to let the rear passenger get in, then slide the seat backwards, you can just about get an adult in the back with the front seats as far back as possible (I wouldn't like to be a rear passenger on a long journey though)!

I've got a 3-series and its got noticeably more rear leg room - the B6 platform isn't that much better - you'd think Audi would learn from their mistakes :audibash:

We took a vote here, we have BMW oil burner estate, Merc C class estate and RS4, and all three kids voted that they had the most room in the back of the RS4. It is both wider and provides more leg room, and my oldest son is 5ft 10, did not complain once of being cramped. If you want a bigger car, buy an RS6......

Let's be honest, who would care about rear leg room when you can move like <beep> off a shovel!!!

Couldn't have said it better myself!

Who cares about the rear... They aren't paying passengers anyway, or are you thinking of an RS4 as a taxi!!!!

An RS4 taxi.... an interesting thought - you'd certainly never be lacking any business. Hell I'd use it all the time if I wasn't so lucky

Audi see the A4 as a 'lifestyle' estate.
I assume what they mean by that is thatthe potential owners want an estate for the looks/status, and rarely need the space it provides.

Certainly holds true for me 8)
