Original clutch said goodbye on a racing track

Post by jukkan » Tue Jun 08, 2004 10:50 am

I was driving on a racing track last sunday and wow that was great! The car worked just fine and the H&R suspension is perfect. The original brakes goes soft after five laps but I can live with that.

The clutch somehow didn´t withstand the power provided by the MTM chip so it went broke with a lot´s of smoke. Is this a common problem in a chipped RS4 with 600Nm of torgue? Well I already ordered a new and stronger clutch from Germany with lightened flywheel.

Afraid it is quite common with torque above 600nM :( and even more common when you hit 740nM :D

Best solution I came across was the MTM clutch - seems to be the pick of the bunch.

cripes my 474 lb ft torque = 642Nm.

Better start saving for a new clutch (& ligthened flywheel :P )
No sig, no RS4 anymore
