Quattro/Recaro bucket seats
Quattro/Recaro bucket seats
I bought the Recaro/Quattro bucket seats to my RS4, has anyone changed the original seats to these? My problem is that the original seats has airbags in them and it is illegal to take off original airbags from the car. Was these Recaro bucket seats originally available to RS4, if so it is possible to change the seats with approval paper from Audi...

Here´s a picture of my Recaros:

They cost me 2100 euros so it is 1400£ and they are imported from Germany. No RS4 logos but small Recaro logo, they are of blue leather.
The only problem now is that like I already said it is illegal to change original airbags from the car. So I need somekind of approval from Audi that RS4 was originally available with these seats and without front seat airbags. Does anyone know is it possible and was these seat originally available?
I already have that Quattro brochure, thanks!

Re: question
I wouldn't have thought so. However, I don't see how it can be illegal unless it is NZ law that all cars must have side airbags. I would have thought you just have to inform you insurance company like any other mod. They will either say yes or no. If the later you find a mod freindly one.kiwi_mtm wrote:Do you guys think the bucket style of these seats make up for the removal of the side airbags ?
This is the same interesting dilema I had with my last S4 I found the seats too wide and wanted to change out to this type of better fitting seat. However, I didn't really want to get rid of the side air bag safety feature. I know of a lad with a Peugot who had his insurance invalidated when he got rid of his air bag seat.
