New harder Wheels

Mine are now awaiting fitting at Amersham Audi. However before I commit to them I'm now hearing that the new harder ones bends as well.

Has anyone received in writing what the warranty conditons are on the new wheels from Audi or is it only verbal?

I don't want to mess my dealer around by not taking them but if the replacement scheme they now offer is [censored] then I will keep the softer wheels.

Anyone got anything direct from Audi on it? And who is the best person to call if I want to get something from them?

I'm in exactly the same position and am wary of losing the lifetime cover on the old wheels so I'm very interested to see any replies on this. I think the warranty on the new wheels is for 2 years but I'm not certain.

In over 2 years of RS4 ownership I have only bent 3 wheels.
So I have chosen to stick with the soft wheels and take the benefit of the unlimited lifetime warranty. I cannot see any benefit in changing to the harder wheels and relinquish the lifetime warranty.

This thread seems to answer a question I have raised in a previous thread "RS4 Questions...".
However, as I purchased mine as a used car, do I get the benefit of the "lifetime" warranty and if so, do I need to do anything to transfer it into my name ?
Thanks
Paul

The extended warranty was supplied as an addition to the standard warranty manual. The warranty is registered to the car, and therefore not affected by a change in owners.

The lifetime warranty is vehicle specific and is therefore transfered to any new owners.
In the service book/handbook paperwork there is a card that any new owner should send of to Audi to notify change of ownership.

I have bent 1 wheel in the 2 years (33,000 miles). Although other owners have had a lot more of the soft wheels bent. So I decided that I might as well stick with the lifetime guarentee.

4 so far in 29K miles but sticking with the softies. Most recent one also bent the suspension for the 1st time and was probably the slowest. As the previous 3 were all when the car was pretty new I had a theory they got 'work hardened' and toughened up with use but unfortunately just proved myself wrong, unless they have got harder and now the wishbones bend instead/as well!
