Abt, MTM or anyone else?

Post by kartpro » Mon Sep 08, 2003 10:23 pm

Hi guys,

I'm from the Netherlands and about to buy an RS4. It is fitted with the 5 spoke Audi wheels. Are these any better than the standard softies?
Furthermore, to get HPs up to 420, should I buy ABT, MTM or another chip modifier?

I got an Abt off the shelf for my S4 and was pleased with the performance. Both Abt and MTM have a good reputation.

Suggest you find the NL distributors for these comapnies and have a chat with them. For the ECU upgrades they are normally done in Germany for Abt - you send the ECU away and a weeek later you get it back with the upgrade. That's how it works here although for MTM there is a UK company called QST who fit the chip in the UK.

Let us know how you get on.

The main difference would be that Audi continues its guarantee with the ABT stuff, as this is their house tuner. I doubt whether they would treat MTM in the same way.
For a 420hp set Audi NL would charge EUR 3,200 or 2,000 in sterling. Looks a bit high to me. Possibly I have to drive to Germany to get it fitted in a much cheaper way.

Have a look at REVO too as many owners here seem very happy with their work (their Director of Software Development has an RS4 himself ) and they have a dealer in NL.
