how strong are the new rims?

Some ^%&^%&*^$%%#$ decidedto give me a welcome home present and pinched all 4 rims off the car. It now has the lowest setting possible, (it is on the ground on the front and on 2 bricks on the middle.
So should I get BBS again or the harder rims are strong enough?
Anyone has bent the new rims?

Didnt you have locking wheel nuts fitted? Im not sure but IIRC the new harder wheels are a one-set per car only... so if they do happen to bend then you can only claim if your car is under warranty, the soft wheels can be exchanged when they bend at anytime.... better off sticking with the soft versions in my opinion.

had a similar experience at donnington park where all my rims were taken by so obliging
Only thing was they were off the car at the time
Sorry to hear that Barnabus
But you should have parked in in the garage.
Cheers

That's awefull... Little feckers

To avoid this happening again I would recommend locking nuts (De Gard), and an aftermarket alarm with tilt sensors.

Wheels - well if you can take advantage of the 'safety' wheels for free for life... it would be rude to say no

Tilt sensors aren’t necessarily a guarantee of safety. My sister-in-law has just had her wheels nicked off her brand new E55 AMG (see attached), which apparently had these fitted. In fact, the alarm went off when the recovery garage hoisted the car onto the back of their truck.

Apparently these professional crooks work in gangs, with rubber-handled tools so there is no noise if something is dropped. Allegedly, even locking nuts will do nothing but slow them down for a while. (B@stards!!)

Dog, are there any lockable garages available close by? At least the ones in Sydney have got to be wider than the ones here in the U.K., which are absurdly narrow!

Bad news mate

I would ignore the alledded harder rims, bent 2 sets and have gone back to the softer option, Audi are useless!

I then got the Sportecs, at my own cost, although I think Adui should have paid for them and have only had one bent rim after hitting a pothole, which is being paid for by the council

Good luck in your choice

ouch, you have me worried now. I hit some road works 2 days ago, and now the whole car is shaking at speed. It's in tomorrow to replace a rubber grommit that got chewed by a previous owners mice, and they can now take a look at the wheels while its there. I was hoping the harder wheels would be a long term solution, as we dont have a hard/soft option, hard only, and once only under warranty. So beyound this set, it'll be from my own pocket... I have the harder rims - did'nt fancy a bent soft one while abroad - and hit a pothole last week. I expected a bent rim but it hit on the outside i.e. the strongest part of the wheel. I now have a straight rim but a f*ck*d tyre. It has a large bulge in the sidewall. Maybe the soft wheels do protect the tyres afer all!
