I've had Sport Contacts before on a Porsche and the S4 and I have to say that they are pretty damn good road tyres. Maybe not the be all of track tyres but a solid buy.

JR, I went to see Kim today for my 3rd stage 458bhp and GMbh suspension. I saw those wheels there and they are absolutely gorgeous. I will try to attach pics of them. Sorry for the quality.
Cheers,

Have been using Contis for the last six years on my 300Hp 996 Powered Boxster. From 1998 to 2000 I used the Continental Sport Contact 1. Those are really bad tires, with no grip to match the balanced Boxster chassi. Than came out the Continental Sport Contact 2. These are far better with more grip less noisy and also confortable. Anyway they tend to flat spot, and also to become out of round. I just buy them because I have a 56% discount at Continental shop due to my activity, but there are best options on the market like the Bridgstone S02 or S03 or the Michelin Pilot Sport.

My Rs6 came with Conti Sports II and my S6 had Conti Sports I. I would agree that the II are hell of a lot better.. I wouldn't rate the Conti I's at all.. the II's have excellent grip and good wear rate too... never got them onto a track but I never lost grip and I did push them very hard at some times. John, I’ve just put a set on my 996T as I wanted to try something different after 2 sets of P Zeros and the Contis are Porsche approved. I’m taking it to the Audi day at Bedford on Tuesday so I’ll let you know how they perform

John - sounds like a good price, I paid £770 total for two 225/40ZR18 and two 295/30 ZR18.
Simon - It's one of the events that Autocar have been running at Bedford Autodrome with various car makers, it has been mentioned on this site before. See:
http://www.palmersport.co.uk/autocar
I think all the places have gone now though

Much quiter than the SO2s and grip well in the dry, will have to see how they like the wet, thats where the SO2s are great.
