Hello all,
I am new to the RS4 scene with little experience of my new B5 RS4. I am looking just for solid advice in regards to what I can do to make my car more interesting,
The car was a one-owner spec vehicle with 120,000KM on the clock. The car is in solid condition and I am looking to understand through this fantastic community as to what steps I should follow to improve the car.
I am not looking to drastically push the car in terms of its performance yet as I want to enjoy the vehicle in its stock form and get to grips with my first jump to the RS world. However please feel free to give me ideas and advice for the day I do decide to make the step.
For now, I had always planned on wanting to make some exhaust changes to help improve the sound that this beautiful twin-turbo V6 makes. I'm not sure whether to replace the entire exhaust or start purely with a sports cat... What does the community recommend as the first steps on working on the car?
Thank you and all help is gladly appreciated

Re: B5 RS4 NEW OWNER LOOKING FOR ADVICE
Fully agree, SRS is the go to for B5 RS4 answers. My advice, put aside about a month and start reading the last 10 years of posts. That will sort out the red herrings, quell the rumours and bad advice, let you know who is who in the parts supply business and in the long run show you what actually works and is popular compared with the hair brained ideas that end up getting ditched.
I'd also suggest that you get a firm idea on your intentions for the future. At 20 years old, the car is becoming more collectable and prices for GOOD examples are rising. Once you start modifying at this stage of the game, if the mods aren't totally reversible, not only are you likely to loose the cost of the mods but also the selling price may be less than a standard car as well.
Great car and you'll love it but you need to remember that it's at least 20 years behind the modern cars albeit far better built. Best description is it's analogue in a digital world. For a bronze age guy like me, it's perfect. It'll tell you who you really are.
