Giving my car a 16th birthday to remember

Post by kcsun » Sat Sep 03, 2016 10:22 pm

My Noggy RS4 will be 16 on 1st November and I think it is about time for some updating, sorting and making good
it is a one owner 129k mile car, had MTM stage 1 after the first year and Stage 3 after two years, still pulling like a train and never let me down. Brakes are the bain of my life on the car and will receive attention AGAIN!!! running AP 6 pots with floating discs that are crap at the moment

I want to replace the wheels with either new 18's or 19's not sure what to choose though BBs's or OZ's are top of the list at the moment, I do not think my local dealer will appreciate me battling with a new set of wheels after the 30 I have already had over the years. the existing ones have the usual bends but have also been abused by the local Koso car wash spraying brick cleaner on them for the last 5 years

New suspension mounts Superpro or Powerflex?

Maybe slightly lowered new springs and dampers -- any suggestions?

then into the paint Shop for all that Sainsburys trolley dolly damage the car has collected over the years

All thoughts and suggestions for the birthday wish list gratefully received

First of all, GET SOME BLOODY PICTURES UP

Thought the AP brakes were meant to be good?

The B5 looks stunning with some nice concave alloys on.

How about Bilstein suspension?
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

Forgot about the Sportec's, they look excellent One of the gang had a Noggy with all the Sportec goodies when we took part in the RS4 challenge races in Germany, cannot remember his name though - hopefully PhilT will come to my rescue with a name
I love the look of BBS LM's but may be a bit expensive also the OZ racing

Looks lovely and good to see you are stil enjoying it after all these years. I like the B7 alloys on the B5's. I had them on mine (Noggy too) for a while. I miss that car.

Suspension favourites seem to be Blistein PSS9 or KWv3 for the B5, along with uprated ARB's front and rear (H& R plus MRC strengthening brackets or Hotchkis).

Your car looks great.

I have some nice wheels in a matching ET for RS4 arches so no need for spacers, they're Team Dynamic 1.2 Pro Race in gloss black and H&R -40mm springs fitted to RS4 shocks that I am getting rid of too after fitting coilovers to my car. Just incase you're interested :D

Hi Adam, thanks for your offer but at the moment I would prefer to go for a more blingy silver/polished look rather than your gloss black
re your suspension did you choose the KW or Bilstein's?

Not to worry, buddy :thumb:

I went with H&R coilovers. I really think I need the anti roll bars too to get the most out of it, it feels better on the coilovers but still a bit wobbly.
