I am thinking of selling my b5 and going for a b7 avant ....... What are the pros and cons ? I love my b5 but fancy a change my b5 is running rather well and has a mild map to circa 430 so is there about on a par with a b7 ish

That is very true. I sold my B5 RS4 about a month a go and just last Saturday I picked my shiney new B7 RS4 saloon, in metallic black.
It's a bit early for a full on comparison but if the seed is sewn then do it, but they are very different cars.

Have you driven a B7 RS4 yet? Maybe that should be your first step if not. Once I get it back from APS and I've had a good few runs in I'll do a proper pros and done write here and on AudiSRS.

John, I own both, they are very different cars, the B5 is a rush when the turbo kicks in and is heavier in the clutch and steering, the B7 more refined and the V8 soundtrack is awesome. I find the B5 as an everyday car perfect and just love it when on boost and you feel very connected to whats happening. The B7 is always wanting to be revved, otherwise you don't do it justice and it is so perfectly set up even in standard mode that it is effortless at speed.

In summary, B5 you know you are pushing it, the B7 is more effortless and refined - both at the top end of what's worth driving

Was about two years ago when I last arsed about in a b7 but that was a saloon , from memory it was quick . What year is the tax cheaper on a b7 ? Just an 06

Pre March 06, can't remember what day in March though.
