If you need work doing and will take longer than a day, which things often do, what are you going to do?!

Not Doug's fault about the delay is it? Once insurers, loss adjusters, solicitors become involved, you effectively lose control.

No business is likely to pay out are they? How much do they pay out if they could? The market value of the car? Who assesses the value?

I'm sure it's not Dougs fault but it certainly isn't Red Rockets either……
I’d like to think MRC are putting pressure on their insurers to get this resolved ASAP.

Hope you get a satisfactory outcome soon.
Just can't get the smile off my face......

If youve have your pride and joy stolen after owning it for 6 years you would understand.
The problem here is that the when you leave your car at a trusted place that you've known for years and its stolen from there thats worrying, not MRC's fault but there insurers are replying to calls and emails when it suits them, and shifting the blame on MRC initially saying that they were not covered for this. That took ages to resolve. Now after 2 months of a preliminary report there still awaiting on there loss adjusters, a large insurer as they are don't take 16 weeks to give you an answer on how much they are going to pay.

Just bought a property and got married a few weeks ago and really need this resolved. My financial burden has increased drastically, so you see my frustration in this.

For the record this is not Dougs fault, as he incurred damage and loss to his workshop.

Lets see how it goes...

..and they are moving from there now, not sure if the theft is the reason but if it is there are costs there too for him.

I think you got it all wrong, if you saw the size of the new place and all that's going to happen there, you wouldn't think the costs were too high in the old place  and this has nothing to do with the theft at all, as the move has been in the works since way before the break-in and the thefts that took place at MRC. The new place is, as it's been said, 100 yards away from the old place, bigger, better, nicer and cleaner and with a 4WD dyno :)

I just love it how some people like to spread rumours when they don't have a clue.... NOT

I think there are going to be some very exciting cars coming out the new MRC.I think it's fare to say they have out grown the old site and this was the most logical move for them..

Minhea, it's responses like this that make me realise why in 3.5 years of 2.7T ownership I haven't spent a penny at MRC

My comment you quoted was in sympathy for the disruption the theft must have caused you, being in the motor trade too I can relate to it.

As I said I wasn't sure the theft was related to the move but if it was then I was pointing out that to move premises so as to make sure it didn't happen again to your valued customers is not a cheap thing to do and you'd be incurring expenses doing so which was a pity but to be respected.

You went to all this trouble to pick on me here and you "MRC" couldn't be arsed to quote me for a remap by email when you told me to email Doug for a price after I PM'd you.

OK, now it's me who's looking like crap here, because I have totally misunderstood your post when I replied to it this morning, and I do apologize for this to you Andy. I think it's not right to say we couldn't be arsed, I told Doug to get back to you, now if he didn't, I can't force him to if he forgets or anything.

Anyway, if I could, I'd delete my post now after seeing how much it makes me look like a fool, I really don't understand what happened there to be honest.

My apologies again,

Mihnea
