Couldyou please send me the details of your wire cutting as opening the doors with a screwdriver seems to be a problem over here too. The UK central locking control unit supposed to have a function thatcan be adjusted with a vag com not to disable the alarm if you open the door. I have removed all locks from my car doors so it is not a problem for me anymore but many of my friends still have them in.

it was done by the audi technition.he did give me a printout of the alarm wiring diagram and marked the wire he cut.pm me if you get stuck.
i dont know about the vag com as my car is an import.
