I echo what everyone says Nick, so long as no-one was hurt. Bambi left it's mark on my bonnet last year.

Thanks for the location info.

just a thought, it may be worth asking a moderator if you can remove the reg from the pic (or the pic) as it's asking to be cloned now the car is off the roads

can I say that after hitting a dear the front looks in a pretty intact state to me or did you hit it from the rear of the car which looks in a much worse state!

The deer got away scot free I'm afraid. My car was completly standard so no B7 front breaks I'm afraid.

Looks like you did get off quite lucky.

What happened to your ESP, I thought with that you're meant to be able to swerve around the deer without losing control?

Glad you're ok Nick... keep us in the loop regarding the insurance and buy back. There are a couple of small bits and bobs I'd be interested in. Starting the search now? I'm just after buying mine recently and have been keeping a very close eye on the market so might be able to help out a little? Let me know if you need one...

Maybe kick off a seperate thread for parting out so Nick has an idea? BTW I'm after the same piece I think... must check it all out. There are a couple of minor things.

The original part was one piece, went right along the threshold of the front and rear doors. You can't get this any more. The replacement comes in two parts, front and rear. So, if you just need the rear section, unless you have had the original one piece replaced with two in the past, you're into buying front and rear, if that makes sense. And, you won't get any change out of £160 for the two pieces.

Cheers Mike. I think its two parts already, so I only need the rear.

Its not high on my to do list, but if something pops up cheap, then i'll get one :)

I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of car but like everyone says as long as you walk away from it its all good

Month ago i just about hit a dear coming back one night to my partners house in ringmeer coming into blackboys, was driving "nippy" in her little lupo and as I have come round the blind bend its just there on the straight fight with the car to stop being country road all dirt crap on the road not helping that one of her ABS sensors was out and little came to a standstill and just touched the dear. I mean nudge. He looks at me and carries on walking. I check trousers and drove off very slowly lol

These cars have taken a hit since you got yours Nick with the budget and taxing of higer emission cars so I hope that you get a good price mate.

I'm seeing loads of them under 20k and my mate just bought on for under 18k with 80k miles on and it's mint. I can't believe how cheap you can get them from Private now.

I came around a corner in Newbury to discover a deer in the road. An enthusiastic brake test avoided incident, fortunately. Glad to hear you're okay.
