i did the rear window triangles myself too. Parts cost was £20each and come ready painted and took about 1 1/2 hrs total replace both sides. A second pair of hands is recommended when splitting the door.

does the body warrenty extend to things like rust on doors? for example where it rubs on the plastic rs4 trim and has now rusted? is it worth a try

Just had a chat to the Warranty Lady at Audi Portsmouth on this same subject. Tailgate housing is added after the body is painted so is considered trim and is therefore under a 3 year warranty :(
However, any other bodywork (mine has rust bubbles where the roof section joins under the roof railings) is covered by the 12 year warranty.
So I'm going to be claiming for that and paying for the tailgate respray at the same time out my own pocket.
