@K2, do the RS6+ discs go straight on, or do you need to fit a caliper bracket on the brembo 6 pots?

Cheers, Nige.

Nige:

THe Brembo calipers need an offset bracket to bring them out to the same offset as as the disc. Mine were machined up in Aluminium by Dialynx. The RS6+ Discs just go straight on as a direct replacement of the OE disc, and cost the same ar RS4 discs!!
Don't know if your aware that Porsche subsidise racing teams with consumables such as calipers. I found this out whist working for a couple of racing teams a few years ago. So if you want to find a pair, a GT3 racing team is a great place to start. Parr racing got mine, and saved me quite a bit over going to dealer. Have a look at their Porsche GT3 Brake upgrade section: www.parr-uk.co.uk.
Since I had mine they have added some really nice floating discs.

out of interest, are the B7 RS4 rear discs an improvement on the B5? I'm giving up on the hope of getting the GmbH rear discs so wondering B7 discs could be an option?

K2, thanks, I thought so. Torn between the RS6 8-pots or the 6-pot brembos. Aftermarket pads are cheaper for the 6 pots and more readily available, but I like the oem look of the RS calipers ... decisions, decisions!

Nige, EBC are now putting out pads at approx £110 for the RS6 calipers, I also have some from APS www.autops.co.uk that are good and much cheaper than OEM (Pagid)

Good luck with your decisions. Let me know what you end up with.
As an aside... the pagid black pads that i have at present produce a rusty red brake dust!!
I was quite alarmed at first as i thought that the disc was fouling with the caliper and wearing away the red powder coating of teh caliper, but all is fine, it just seems to be what pagid black pads do...no idea why though

I found the pads supplied by EBC (Lucas) to be slightly wrong sized! They needed filing down about a mm to get them to fit, otherwise OK.

Damon - what make are the APS ones (or should I just look at the link!)?

The Lucas black pads do the same thing...
