i recon as more and more "high" mileage B7's come on the marketm, the B7's will drop in value even faster. . . 50k speciments are going for £25-£27k. . . in two years that'll be £20k

Here we go again comparing saloon high mileage prices,The cheapest avant high miler ive seen was a 65k car @£29995 which was dear imo but it sold i think,i dont think saloons will stand up so well value wise as many regard real RS4s to be avants,

I have had my B5 for three and a half years now. I have driven quite a few different cars, with a view to change, including B7 RS4, C5 RS6 and 996TT. IMO nothing matches the B5. I know it is a little dated inside, however what a huge grin every time you stab the loud pedal.

I can't let it go, it's here to stay....

Keep hearing the same things on the various forums that its hard to find a suitable replacement once you have a good one.

Sounds like it will be at ADI then Dave??

No, collecting on Saturday :)
The other avus car didn't have a sunroof or else I would have been interested as it was in great condition. I bought the 46k avus car that he had advertised at the same time.

Roll on Saturday! :greyrs4: :notworthy:

Will be good as always to see you blasting around the track.
If I get brakes and PSS9's before then I "might" give it a go...
Will be keeping left though! :nodder:

IMO opinion the B7 and C6 range of RS's don't look special enough. you could drive by an RS6 thinking it was an s line, and I have had to second look an B7 RS4 avant lookey likey.

however, no-one confuses the A4 with teh RS4 in B5 form.

would always go B5 vs B7

As he drove past me to exit, he stopped in the middle of the forecourt to talk to me through his window - he said he owned a B5 RS4 a while ago, and, shockingly (to me anyway), said he'd rather he had that still than his (then) 3 month old C6 RS6???
TBH, I think he was just trying to be friendly with that comment, but worth a mention...?

I think that was me in the RS6 - was it black? Vaguely remember having that conversation with someone in a petrol station.

Anyway, if it was, what I said was true. The B5 is still the best RS that I've owned.

What are you going to change to? That's the B5 problem - I decided recently that I didn't need the space of the RS4 so had a look and decided on a total change to a Z4M Coupe, primarily because I love the look.... Test drove one and it just felt too slow - obviously it was great through the twisties but the kick from 50-80 that you get from the RS4 just isn't there. Doing the sums the Z4M is about 25% down on my power and only about 5% lighter so I guess it should have been predictable. Sticking with the RS for now so.
