I finally got my RNS-E installed in my RS4. The work was done by this dude at Finnish Audiclub forums. He had to re-do some Can-cabels, re-code the unit for A6 and build the faceplate to make it fit perfectly in B5.

We took some sharp measurements and he used plastic padding to mod the faceplate a bit wider. About 5mm was cut off of the bottom side of the panel.
Then painted it in original colour.

That looks really good! What is plastic padding??

Also what sort of paint is it? Acrylic matt maybe? Don't spose it is as durable as the original plastic but as long as you don't touch it much should be fine.
