Windscreen wiper failure

Right lads made a bit of a c0ck up with the unseiezing of the wiper arms and managed to snap the cast piece which bolts down the drivers side of the assembly, in other words the lef one, needless to say i still can't release the shaft as it's stuck, i only managed to get it out by about 5 mm.
How much is a new wiper assembly? I presume you can buy them with out the motor (well I hope so!!!)
Or does anyone know if it is possible to get it clamped down by any other means if this happens?

well lads i managed to get it back in and have it held in by 2 cable ties so i hope it holds

I would get a quote from www.VAGPARTS.com or try to get the cast alloy welded if it is worth salvaging something that sounds knackered.

Same wiper assembly as most other Audi VW`s Just the motor has a different pin plug.
I have used a Passat unit but replaced the original motor.
