A mate of mine had the same thing happen to him a couple of weeks ago in the same area. It was late on a Friday evening, when 4 guys burst into his house and demanded the keys to his Scooby at ..GUNPOINT !!
His car was found less than an hour later with Tracker after it ran out of fuel.

What letter ?

I never got one.....

And I live in West Yorkshire.

Sorry to hear about this Andy. This appears to be a growing trend i'm afraid. The only consolation that I can give is that these type of thieves are not just after RS4's. I hope you have not been too traumatised about the whole episode. All the best.

:( Really sorry to hear about what happned, it's awful.

You've gotta question our justice system, and why people aren't more afraid to do this kind of thing.

No letter for me as yet :(

JR, is there anything in the attached advice note that in your opinion would be worth a read and is not just common sense ?

Just rang Audi UK and it seems we will not all be getting a letter.
They have searched the Db and only sending letter to those they feel are 'at risk'.
Not sure what that means exactly - live in a high risk area ?

I also asked about the plastic key and was told it does indeed have a chip in it,
as Dog (I think) confirmed.

Hmm, got me worried now :|

Cheers,
John.

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate loss.

Its about time the Gov. stood up and started to do something about these gits.

Will keep eyes peeled, as I'm always around your area.

Good luck,

R.

I imagine that Audi have sat around a table and decided it would probably be bad for future buisness if they put the 'willy's' up all of there existing customers. Would like to know how they have decicded where is and where isn't a high risk area though?

Reading the heading letter, it makes me wonder if the traffic cops have been given any instructions to pull over and vechile check all RS cars they see on their travels?

Anyone been needlessly stopped recently??

Sorry to hear the news. i've just got back to see the letter, but the main thing is you are alright. think we need to invest in a electric shock alarm system to fry the buggers if they attempt to seal the car.
again hope everone is ok and that you'll get over the shock.

This key issue is puzzling me. I remember that when I got a new dash pod which allegedly contains the imobilser. I received new keys along with it. (I had to get an updated immobiliser to suit a revised ECU) anyway I had to have all the keys reprogrammed and got the Germany fax chat too. When they did this they only programmed one of the flip keys and some time later when I tried the unprogrammed flip key I could open the car with the remote but it wouldn't start the car?

So how have these scumbags managed to get past this?
