Carbon fibre additional engine covers

Sorry if I was misunderstood, but I thought this and other similar websites are 'forums' for discussion and opinion?
Carbonblack is 'in the carbon-fibre industry' and is offering items for sale, demonstrated by his examples, (of which I'm sure are his best efforts) and based on like for like comparison with the OEM RS4 items, the finished product simply isn't as good.

Only through the process of discussion has it now become evident that there are different approaches to manufacturing, materials and fabrication which culminates in different levels of achievable finish.

Its a fare point, yes forums are for discussions, I do agree but experience has told me that some members, not just on here I may add, have there own hidden agenda i feel (nickwigan, tried & is making some carbon covers), to slag other members off using little knowlege of the subject matter but professing to being very knowlegable on the matter.

I have seen other members/posts trying to create their own carbon panels enploying a variaty of methods to cover parts in carbon. My responce is good luck & well done for having ago at it.. I dont jump on there threads to offer negative advice but if advice is needed I offer it freely.

All I'm trying to do is offer a service to like minded members.

The car in question, the 1st picture, shows my 1st attempt with this project & the customer was very happy with his new covers, threfore these are not the best I can do thank you very much. I also repaired & refurbished his original 3 covers on the engine as they where scatched badly.

just for your info, he has also asked me to make Carbon Fibre side skirts & rear spoiler for his car too & as his car is black, he would like a carbon bonnet too.

carbon black i have no hidden agenda as i have all ready paid for the tooling for these parts so if no one wants these thats ok
i was offering oem quality product moulded
from a mould useing pre preg 99.9% perfect weave
thats not me saying its the people who are making them they have a sample from the engine cover and say no problem matching up
the proof is in the pudding but as for the quality of these parts
that have been covered in carbon ask any one who as commented on this topic would they buy them
ask would they buy oem quality and i bet they would
iam not saying its easy its far from it but this product is not a sellable itiem

To be honest I quite like the Irregular patten it looks more like "genuine carbon fiber" in my opinion. On motorsport applications it does tend to look more handmade. But it does clash a bit with the Audi originals but as Audi dont make the other panels in carbon you either have to live with plastic or put up with carbon fiber with a different weave.

The whole point of carbon fiber is to save weight which I think makes it a bit pointless to wrap the plastic in carbon as that adds weight albeit for a cosmetic benefit. In fact the original Audi Carbon covers are a bit pointless as they would be even lighter if you just removed then seen as the serve a rather limited function. But If like a lot of people you want the engine to look like a 400BHP engine a bit of carbon fiber is very pleasing on the eye - so I think people have been a bit harsh you can buy these cover or use another supplier or not bother.

Most modifications dont look factory which is part of the attraction for a lot of people.
