Dave does the Autowatch device cut the power regardless of speed etc? I’ve heard of one that cuts throttle response as they come to a halt but would prefer one that simply cuts the power regardless.
Autowatch cuts the power as soon as it gets a text message from any phone. Great product IMO. Simple operation and cheap in comparison to Smartrack etc. No monthly subscriptions just a pay as you go simcard. They also do an option to locate the vehicle through GPS once the scumbags have abandoned the car.
dace are you talking about the ks-999?

Thanks for the info on Autowatch, I've just looked on their website and have been quite impressed with what they offer.
I've sent them a mail asking for details of who they have in my area, it looks like an excellent product!

Thanks guys!
Just can't get the smile off my face......

Thanks to all for your kind words.
I have two well trained dogs and the thing is it happen so fast that all they did was bark alot and charge at him but he was in and out in about 20seconds, but dogs are still a good idea. As for the cut off deivice we are not aloud a deivice that cuts the engine when moving or running it will only stop them restarting the engine once they have turned it off, that what the police told me.
The scrum bag did cut his self on the window and left alot of blood so the police have that but no finger prints were left. As for the tracking deivice when i was chatting to the police the one they like the most is tracker as it has two means of tracking GPS and VHF alot of the other make just have GPS which if the car is put metal container used for shipping or in a concrete basement the GPS is blocked and the last gang the got from slough had a GPS blocking device, were as the VHF can not be blocked.
So now i am getting the windows in the house done in the same thing as superglass for the car, it is blast proof and will stop anythink coming thougth http://www.windowfilm.co.uk/ a good price as well. And a RAM Stainless Steel Telescopic post in the drive way, not cheap but i have always wanted one.
Regards
Jason

From my experience playing online war games, I find that 2 machine gun posts, either side of a choke point (entrance to your drive) is one of the most effective methods of repelling an enemy attack. Mines are always good to soften them up a bit first before they enter the killing zone. HTH.

sounds like you have it sorted Jason - with respects to dogs if ever you want a demonstration of what a proper protection dog can do let me know - trust me you will be amazed - 20secs is a lifetime for a dog which is switched on!

why not?
I think the police are misinformed. lots of road leagl track cars driving round with them. a friend of mine had one in a Triumph TR2!

if anything I think your insurance company is likely to approve

I had a Clifford Blackjax Anti Hijack alarm on my previous car, and it was already installed when I bought it. I didn't have any problems with insurance companies and I declared it. I wouldn't have thought one of the biggest alarm co's (Clifford) would produce and install these in the UK if they were illegal?

totally different.
I am talking about a simple cut off that stops your vehicle going anywhere in the first place.
http://www.driftworks.com/catalog/produ ... witch.html

bury one of these in the car interior and not only do they have to find it they have to rewire it or have a key with them.
only down side is if they broke in and stole your keys they may have found this as well!!

Sorry getting the cut off device and the Anti Hijack alarm mixed up.
I have had a look at the Clifford Blackjax Anti Hijack alarm it look good and it does what the police and autowatch say you can't have, confused.

Must admit though, I ended up disabling the Blackjax alarm. I'd always forget about it, and then if I opened my door with the engine running, then carried on driving, it would stop the car with all lights blazing and the alarm going. Happened a few times.

Worst thing was though, that occasionally if I gave the car the full beans, the thing would cut in and shut the car down. Must have been a dodgy connection somewhere, but was easier to just disable it in the end. Also one morning the car wouldn't even turn over due to the Blackjax.....Had to disconnect the battery and then enter the code etc to get it running.
