Yep I can also vouch for the low end torque gain, and also general responsiveness!

I've always sworn by Supersprint products, and if you research into their R&D and testing, you'll see why they are a league above the rest IMO.

Even when I was considering, I was actually very wary, and wondered why no one went for the S/Sprint. Took the plunge anyhow, and over the moon!

And like you say, there's hardly any price difference.

Out of curiosity, how long did you have to wait for yours?

Lee / R33-VSpec

Are either of you able to tell us what diameter pipe is used on the Supersprint?
Is it a single pipe system with a split at the rear muffler for the twin tips?
Are the mufflers a straight through pipe, or baffled?

I want the performance, but without the droning.
Regards,

Its starts as two pipes at the CATs then into a Y section into a single 3" ID pipe into the middle box. The link pipe between the middle box and backbox is also 3" ID then back to twin 100mm x80?mm tailpipes. There no reducers between the backbox and tails. Didn't actually look down the pipes to see if they were straight through. Supersprint also offer a non resonated for £699 if you shop around. Some thing ive noticed is, the sound is beautifully matched to the engine note and tone!! You can tell that a lot of R&D has gone into the system.

Re SuperSprint exhaust – Is the centre box bigger than the stock one? My previous Miltek exhaust had a huge centre box which rubbed on 'everything – It drove me mad!

From what I can remember the centre box is smaller than the stock one, although saying that the stock shape is quite weird!

I think I remember reading its 2x63.5mm into 1x80mm.

As Lee has said, they also offer a straight through middle section.

I didn't want excessive noise, so went for the 2 box system, and like Lee has said, the engine note and tone is superbly matched. As said beofre, best mod I've done IMO. Also fits the bumper better, and tails look nothing OTT

This system seems really good. I have the full Milltek with D/P's and 100 cell cats. Don't suppose anyone knows whether the Supersprint catback would fit on to the Milltek D/P's??

Yep should do, although best the check the diameter of the Milltek DP's, and if they were longer or shorter compared to the stock DP's

That's interesting - one of thing's I like about the standard exhaust is that is nice and quiet - but on the other hand, I like the sound of a Milltek less the boom (I don't want any boom ).

I think you'll get better build quality with the Milltek (and I'd rather none of those clearance problems) but now the Supersprint sounds like the better package for me...?? :?

Don't want any boom! Go and buy a Fiesta then.. :D

Had my full Milltek on for over two years. No clearance problems and love the sound. Quality product.

Don't think you'll get better quality with the Milltek.
Supersprint is an Italian company, and they work VERY VERY well.
The quality of their products is astonishing.

Thanks guys.
This has to be the most informative and useful thread I have seen regarding exhaust for the B5 RS4.

Would have to conclude the Supersprint is the way to go for performance improvements without compromise. That is a nice note out the back - where it should be - and not in the cabin!

These cars ride pretty low already, so the last thing we need is reduced ground clearance from low hanging pipe.

All I need do now is find a distributor in Australia !!
