Hi KC

Much that I loved the RS4 I don't trust Audi any more. The old wheel debarcle really hacked me off.

Happy with the M5, have ordered the new one due n a couple of years.

Cheers

kcsun,

did you ever go to that big car meet in August? I remember speaking to you about it on Audi-Sport as a fellow Essex boy but I was in Ibiza when it happened!

COME ON SELL all your RS4s so the price will come down.

Damn these things. I reckon these cars are holding ridiculous residuals. E.g. assuming the basic one was £47K they seem to be averaging £38K that's an 80% residual on a car that's nearly 3 years old.

It's NOT RIGHT - After driving one at the weekend I really really really want one NOW!

I'm sure the first ones are going to drop to between £30K and £35K in the next 6 months.

Just can't commit the cash until at least another 6 months.

I can't believe the difference in the overall feel of the RS4 over the S4. The seats make a tremendous difference, the handling is not too hard but much more direct.

I nearly lost my cool and just went for it. An Avus silver with graphite interior and seats with 25K (X333 OPS) I think. Anyone know it? The dealer wants £37995 in Aberdeen. But he was only prepared to give me 13K for my mint S4 Avant. Despite have a less specked one sitting on his forecourt for £20K!

One thing that surprised me, It didn't feel that tremendously quicker than my chipped S4 (323bhp allegedly)

I would definitely get it chipped since my mate said the same thing and went onto test drive a chipped one. Which he said was tremendous quicker.

I want I want I want a wide one.

Golich, my take is you'll always get more out of your current car if you sell direct. Somewhere between the 14K he offered and the 20K he sells could be a realistic target.

Could be interesting to return to the dealer and tell upfront "I've sold my S4 so let's not waste time with that".
And give a shot at taking the price down as much as possible -a good practice run doesn't hurt, right ?

If you aren't in a hurry to get the RS4, I strongly recommend buying and keeping all magazine ads or printing on a weekly basis the list John R. posted above.
You may find it very useful in 3-6 months, especially when facing a seller who's been trying for ages.

Time is your ally, especially for cars parked at an Audi dealership waiting to be sold (ie no extra mileage, wtf if spent 6 months under a roof, I don't care).
The archives of ads/listings will let you identify these cars
