it's well ramed in there parden the pun but must have been a real headache to fit the engine it there bit of a mensa test

Probably more accessible than a saloon because the whole rear clam lifts away.

Awesome motor! Maybe the running temp is low/fan kick in to prevent it over heating, as I'd imagine on full song around a track it would generate quite a lot of heat ............

So what is the running temp on a RS4?

Haven't a clue, but my S3 is bang on 90 degrees every day, all day! Does it have the RS4 instruments? I 'think' they are designed to be at running temp when the needle is vertical, but I have no idea and have never been in one ;)

The Audi gauges have a fudge factor to keep the gauge steady even when the actual temp is fluctuating

Don't have 1/4 time, but 0-60 is 3.6 sec and 0-100 is 7.5. HTH
