I've no idea about the tow bar...but you're spot on with the colour. It's always got to be Misano!

Wouldn't the dealer be able to tell from the VIN?

no for some reasonAudi Ireland have stopped selling genuine audi ones, they just refer you to a tow bar specialist!!!! Great customer service eh??!!

Thats why i'm unsure of the exact model, i think it would be early one but not fully sure?

I'd say its a safe bet you get one to fit an S4 the same age as your RS or ask the geezer in Ireland who already has done this.

he did it a few years ago and got a audi dealer to do it, just my luck!!

Defo the earlier model (however there were MY changes for the B5 S4 around April/May 1999 too!)

Excuse me for being thick here............ but RS4 was made from 2000-2001, some were registered later but thats your lot, so what has S4 got to do with it?????????? The earlier 2000 model had a few differences to the later one, mostly in the type of gearbox fitted........

No comment Simon!!!! The way I undestand it is that the dealer needed to clarify which S4 models B5 (1996-2002) & B6 (2001-2004) the RS4 was based on, as he could only find a towbar to fit the S4, not the RS4!

In reality, if he is worth his salt, he should know this without even thinking about it - hopeless springs to mind.

Yes, B5 S4. Nice car, I test drove her a few weeks ago, nice smooth gear box, think it may have a short shifter fitted, hope you got a good price as she was up for 28k!

b5 rs4? don't you mean m8. Yeah got a bit off the price of her, not sure about the short shifter though as i dont know the throw of a rs4, will look on saturday when i pick her up.

Gonna order the earlier model tow bar as i reckon this will be the right one, anyway how diff can they be?

and just to go totally off subject i saw a 53 plate B7 RS4 saloon today in sloane st..spoke to the guy and he said "this the plate i got with the car,its not an import or a personal plate"..how about that then..looked so weired i had to approach him and ask about it..and yes it was real not a diesel rebadged cos i got him to open the bonnet..me,s thinking it mite ave been an old press car..

nah just that i was dan in landan cupla weeks back and saw one parked up in Clydesdale Street (?) just off the the portobello road and thought there was summink funny about it so it might have been the plate and I just didn't click
