Looks like i will be making a few calls tommorrow, as a rather long road trip today has finished off the front pads,... orange warning light has appeared on the dash!
so I think i will start with VAG parts in swindon with the gmbh discs and pads as advised, unless any one can point me in another direction.
Thanks for all the advice, it is really appreciated.

I would be interested to know what pads you choose if you follow the GMBH drilled discs route as I have Pagid yellows on mine!
As previously summed up they are quite noisy in an "angry growling" way and do squeal slightly when moving forward slowly in traffic but also they seem to lack initial bite and as they warm up (quickly) the bite increases rapidly - it's the sound that is a little disconcerting tho'
Having looked at Pagid's site, they seem to favour the yellows for general use and the orange as an alternative?
The amount of brake dust on the wheels and in the disc vent holes suggests that the pads are wearing out at normal rate!
Many thanks
Simon

Do you have a part number for the GMBH disc brakes from Audi?

I tried to buy them at Spain but they didn´t know anything about them, the only thing they could offer were the stock disc brakes.

I'm currently running Pagid yellow pads and actually find them pretty good even when cold. There is a small amount of 'squeal' when gently braking and everything is cold but probably no worse than I used to get from the originals.

Found this information to be quite useful on pads
