I need the old lower arms off some one who is doing the job so I can get the Polly bushes made.
Dealers do not press out bushes.
They will replace the arms in question.
Bobjebb don't worry you will know if you have bush probs. The car will squeak all the time and knock like a B*S..sorry it will knock loudly as metal touches metal as the rubber is failing.
There are awesome solutions with Polly bushes they will make you car handle like no other Rs . It will be transformed from barge to race car handling . The rear LOWER IS THE LAST POLLY PROJECT FOR MY CAR SO IF ANY ONE CAN HELP WITH SOME SCRAP , I can create some awesome solutions for this area.
HELP NEEDED

Ideal response is, a pair of scrap lower arms .

Gordon.

With one pair I can get the bushes fitted then take mine out and pass on to the next person and on to the next and so on with any s4 / Rs4 suspension arms provided .
Lets try to get the parts together and then we have cracked it and serious race car handling is guaranteed .
I have now got serious race car handling and I cannot believe the difference .
2 more arms to go and I am fully pollied.

I know another local RS4 owner who has had these replaced after being told they were cracking, but id like to see the extent before I pay so make sure you see the damaged units on the car! Not that I dont trust them or anything!

Is there an after-market polybush kit for the RS4?
Had them replaced under warrenty today and after playing about in a A3 3.2 quattro for about 5 hours,i got the RS4 back and god what a difference :D

The car rides and handles much better now the bushes have been replaced, the 25mile drive home from the garage to the house in a blizzard was fantastic.

Congrats on selling the car by the way

Still snowing up there then Frank?

Nothing to do with this posting but my dealer lent me an A8 whilst my 6+ was in for first service.......Great stereo but I'm not old enough for one yet!
Like you, really glad to get my car back.

Cheers, MartynC

Hi Martyn......had snow on the ground for 13 days in a row now.
Dealer let me have an A3 3.2 Quattro to play about in while the my car was in for MOT and repairs.
Nippy enough but the engine noise is very harsh and i was glad to return the car after 5 hours.....not sure about this FSI engine malarky?

I dont think Audi would have anything to temp you out of the RS6+ ?

Frank - Brooner had his replaced at his first MOT last Autum. His car had only 20K something miles on it. I was told last August mine were starting to wear 38K miles. It passed the MOT with no probs two months later. The same dealership.

I had them checked again a couple of weeks back and I'm told they are fine. So yes I'd have a chat with whoever is saying these things need changed.

Hi Golich,

The car drives much better after the bushes were replaced, but it is a bit funny all the lads on here from Aberdeen/shire have been advised the bushes have failed/split/cracked when cars have gone in for MOTs at the same dealership......4 RS4s all with the same fault  ......better give Mulder and Scully a phone

Anyway car breezed the MOT and the bushes were replaced under warrenty so all in all a cheap day up at the dealers for a change
Cheers
Frank

Hi Frank,

Did you get any explanation as to why they had failed so quickly? Any idea how much the total job costs. Now that I'm out of warranty I'll either do the majority of the work myself and have the alignment checked if required - anyone?

Frank,
do you knwo the dealers name and mech who did the work . If so could you pm it.
Its just that the handbrake cable is extreemly difficult to ge out of the lower wishbone. I asume this is the one which was replaced. I would like to just ask the mech how to get the cable out. Its so blody difficult.

Any suggestions anyone on this one?

Hi G,

I did not get a chance to speak with the mechanic that carried out the work and was offered no explanation why the bushes needed replacing again.
If i manage to speak with the mechanic i will post any info.
Cheers fc
