I have the standard recaro seats wit hthe air bag and I fitted a 6 oint ,3 inches harness. Do you think that the bucket Recaro has any advantage over my setup?

Some 60 kilos advantage, if you fit both front seats with bucket seats.

It is a fact that these were fitted from factory to some cars. They can also be changed to normal ones, at least according to one owner I spoke to some days ago (he had them both, and fitted the ones he liked / needed).

I'm not so sure it's a 60kg saving - the replacement seats (in GRP) might only be 6.5kg, but that excludes the mounting brackets, which are probably the same weight as the seats ????

Still, the corner support must be worth it for the track-day lovers ;-)

According to the German magazine sport auto, which had quattro packed RS4 in 100 000 km test, it is 60 kg. Then again, I've never weighed stock seats, so can't really say.

They did praise the seats, and the car as well. Except for crap brakes, and high running costs.

Hi John, I would like the embossed version like yours as well. However, Audi & Recaro HKG are not convinced that the seat has embossed RS4 logo on it. That is why I have been begging for a picture here for over a month, so that I can show them as proof.

I can't give you the part number, but it says in the Audi RS4 sport brochure that they cost 1500Euro each.
I really would choose a cheaper alternative!

In Sweden they cost 2700Euro each! :(

Is it cheaper to buy the seats from Recaro directly and is it possible to get the seats in the original clothing?

If you buy them via Recaro they are (I think) 200Euros cheaper. But JR mentioned something about different material....

:o JR!! I should place an order of those seats together with you last year!!! Damn damn damn..... I am gealous!!

OK boys... I took many months of research and finally went for the cheper version with no RS4 logo :( but in full Audi Onyx leather through Recaro, Hong Kong at EUR1,400 each with all mounting accessories included!! If I go for a pair like JR's with RS4 logo, Recaro and Audi HKG is asking for EUR2,500!! Ouch.... I really cannot understand the price difference for just a RS4 logo!! I did ask Recaro about the material used, they said they will use the same material as Audi does!! So, useless they are lying, otherwise, they'll match to my exsisting interior.

I have the Quattro/Recaro racing shells WITH the RS4 logo on, BUT I have one more important question than if those shells have the RS4 logo or not.

I´m 186cm tall and even if I have those shells in the lowest position, it is still to high for me and I think for anyone in my size. I would need 2-3cm lower position.

When I spoke to Quattro GmbH about that, they didn´t know anything. When I asked MTM about that, they told me that there are two ways:
1st is to make another halls in those metal parts, which hold the shells but you have to cut them also otherwise the lower position won´t fit.
2nd is to order from Quattro GmbH those parts, which are already made for the lower position. Actually at MTM they were sure that Quattro GmbH has those parts. When I contacted Quattro about that, the didn´t know anything about that, AGAIN!

So my question is, has anyone done any of the two ways? Don´t tell me that this position is convenient for you gays.

JR, how tall are you? Are you sutisfied with the hight?
