They look remarkably the same but we parekd alongside and the Santorin is slightly more purple.

I only found out when the chipsaway guy came over and said it aint no way it's Azure.

I have been "lurking" in this forum since RS246 started and I finally decided to register.

I'm interested in this Azure vs Santorin discussion.

The reason is that I was the first owner of Thorney's car (still miss it - who owns it now ?) and when my car was in the order bank the special order paint option became available. Because I had previously had a 80 cab in Azure which I loved, I changed my spec from Avus to Azure with silver leather and Ali mirrors - that's one

Also at around the same time I was chatting to a guy I knew at Scotts Audi and afterwards he speced one of their order bank cars exactly the same as mine - definitelt ordered as Azure - that's two.

Around the same time I got delivery of my car Docklands Audi had a demonstrator which was also Azure but with body colour mirrors and black leather I think - 3

I am also pretty sure there was one more Azure knocking round the dealer network.

Anyone own any of these cars now - I'm wondering if the Swifts one is another one we didnt know about.

BTW - I asked my ordering dealer about the Azure/Santorin question and he told me that in VAG the colour name on the paint code can be a different name from the brochure colour - maybe these 2 colours are the same ? Whatever the name it is a cracking colour for the car

Also I have a minichamps model - the colour is Santorinblau perleffekt - it may just be a market thing.

We know mine (yous) was Santorin as I got the front stonechips touched up. Got Azure paint out and it didn't match at all. We had to search through all the paint codes to find the right match and it turned out it was Santorin. Aston Green were convinced it was Azure so we had to ring GmBh to find out what happened.

Welcome Macca, I'm pretty chuffed that all of it's owners are contributing in one post :D
So you're saying that you thought you'd ordered Azure and the realised it wasn't? Thanks for the spec, it's a beaut  I guess you are London based if you're talking about Scotts and Docklands Audi? I'm only 20 mins from Docklands myself.
Begs the question, what have you got now? You didn't keep it very long.

All the best,

Ben

Interesting that you can order a colour from Audi and they deliver a different one ! I didn't question it the whole time I owned the car , it looked like Azure to me. First time I knew any different was when Thorney discovered the paint code was different.

Is there a different paint code for Azure ? If so i wonder does anyone have a genuine Azure RS4 or were they all "respecced" to Santorin at the factory ?

Ben - I am north Oxfordshire based but originally from Northern Ireland - my friend was DP at an N Ireland VW Audi dealer (Brook Audi, Coleraine) so that is where your car came from. They chose not to go the corporate showroom route so gave up the Audi franchise while my car was in the order bank. However I kept the order with them (in return for 1K discount) and it was the last Audi they delivered. The DP drove it over and drove back in my S reg Noggy S4. Invoice price of your car was 52K I think,

I switched from the RS4 and a Boxster S to a 911 turbo and X5 diesel. Now I have a 911 turbo (450 bhp) and Cayenne S. In between I owned a Noggy 4.2 V8 S4 Avant for a while but bailed out while the values were high because it was so uncomfortable for passengers.

I still hanker after an RS4 and I deffo think I will buy another one in the future - its one of the most satisfying cars I ever owned. Ben maybe I can have my old one back when you finish with it - how many miles on it now ?

The Alu trim was taped for protection/effect I think.
