Does stock RS4 have (operational) speed limiter ?

My experience with several S cars is, that 100% stock cars do not have speed limiter. Is it the same with RS4 ?

Yes it does and will only go to 170 MPH when de activated

Only 170 ? I did assume it can do appr. 180 mph. S6 can do appr. 167 mph. and has less power and larger frontal area.

Agreed. Limiter spoils all the fun at 170mph (Around 270kph) on standard RS4's. If yours isnt coming in, then its been fiddled with.

Now I'm confused, is RS4 limited to 170 mph or is it limited to 155 like most German cars and can do 170 when limiter is removed [img]images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

I have read the stories from internet (audiworld) that when you hit the limiter first time it works, but is deactivated thereafter. This was about S6. Bought my S6 second hand and there is no limiter, so may-be there is some truth in this story ? Don't know what's the case with RS4 though.

Just to clear the confusion.

Standard RS4 is limited to 170mph.

At 155mph its still pulling hard!

At just below the point where the limiter cuts in standard car is pulling well enough to feel like it would go on to do 180mph flat out.

So that 278-280 must be without limiter, if they have limiter afterall.

Yep, offical line is utter crap. Hockenheim triplast year, bog standard (angine anyway [img]images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]) RS4, 172 mph indicated and the limited just kicked in. At 155 its pulling like a train. I can only assume Audi is 'relaxed' about when the limter kicks in. Even assuming a nice over read on the speedo it was over 160mph.
