Guys, both of my VR6 Corados and also my RS4 'linger' slightly - I have always believed it to be a feature of the Audi/VW group V6 engine. By this I don't mean has harshly as described in the original post, but it certainly does take a while for the car to return back to idle lets say. Although it does not effect my gear change in the slightest. Hence why the lightweight flywheel was mentioned - before you get concerned about boost leaks/air leaks blag a drive in another RS in your area.

Would agree with you there bud...try and get a drive in another car before you go looking for air leaks!

Another update, after the recent service and associated discussions, the guy at the service desk told me that they had reset a number of faults in the ECU (maybe I should invest in VAGCOM), since this the car has been transformed. No more lingering revs and much keener through the rev range. This and the other recent issues I have have brought me to think that either the dealer wanted to get rid of the car quickly and didn't do any of their checks or took me for a muppet and thought I wouldn't know the difference. If they thought the latter then they have been very much mistaken although it does make me think is there anything else that they I haven't found yet. Anyway the result feels like a new car which is a good thing.

@ Golich/ derdle/all

I experience slight but noticable rev increase on declutch when rolling to stop from low gear e.g rolling between/approaching lights in town

Normal? Due to air-con running?

Anybody else experince this in standard or modded form?
