Bet you're glad you checked now, not.
Ben, do you remeber I told you that my oil cost (eact same oil spec) was half as yours, I think it was £5 something a litre.

This is from a 40k mile service with an Audi dealership, labour cost was higher though.

Wonder if they let you buy oil at the price on its own?
I do remember roughly, it must be around here somewhere.

£5/l cannot be right, but nor can the £15/l that I paid.

Time to make a call.

The best oils will cost significantly more than the ones in Halfrauds. From memory a decent one like the Silkolene Pro S is circa £38 + carriage for 5 Litres.

Except it has probably not been ratified by VAG to their 503.1 standard, so would invalidate any warranty claims........

Yeah we covered that earlier, it was a demonstration that decent oils were more expensive.

What you need is VW503.01 there are many of these about and you can supply your own as long as the oil meets the correct spec.

Castrol SLX Longtec 0w-30
Mobil1 0w-40
Fuchs Titan Supersyn SL 0w-30
Motul 8100 E-tech 0w-40

Just to name a few.
