Help me: RS6 brakes on RS4?

Post by RingRunner » Sun Nov 13, 2005 8:21 pm

EDIT:
I now saw the sticky, sorry for posting this.

Hi all,
I need help, I am in the process of buying new brakes to my car, and I found these:
http://cgi.ebay.de/Audi-RS6-plus-8-Kolb ... dZViewItem

Is the RS6 brakes bolt-on on the RS4, do I need to change discs, adapters, etc?

I will probably buy new from VAG, depending on if they fit on my RS4...

Thanks in advance,
Henrik

I have someone at Audi fitting the very same callipers to my RS4 discs as we speak. He believes it's possible, without adjustment apart from a new hose as mentioned in the 'sticky'. I'm waiting patiently, I should hear tomorrow if it's been a success.

They will fit straight on the RS4, you don't have to change
the discs or use adapters.
Only you need to bend the hose's a little bit (the metal part)

Henrik: Haven't collected the car yet, but here's a pic I've just had sent, and apparantly everything is just great, can't wait to try them. No problems to fit, very little tweaking involved.

Not a great picture from a phone, but you get the idea. I'd be interested to know what you paid for the calipers.

Can anyone confirm that the RS6 disc will fit also?

@don: the RS6/RS6+ disc will fit but with modified caliper brackets. RS6+ discs is what I'm installing on my S4 in 2 or 3 weeks...

Thanks Mihnea, sounds good. Please do post some pics of all parts including caliper brackets.

How does the price compare to other makes such as MOVIT or Brembo?

Do the RS6 discs fit under 18" wheels?

I just order my set of RS6 8 piston calipers for my RS4 and I'm going to install them on my original disk, the two calipers and the brake pads cost me with tax, an equivalent of 1,460 Euros, lets hope they fit perfectly on the RS4 disk.

Regards
