Downgrading from RS4

Post by RS4ge » Tue Sep 06, 2005 6:04 pm

RS4 v Holiday lodge .... or heart v head :?
Wife and kids (and my sensible side) want the Devon Holiday lodge which means downgrading from the RS4.
But the car's going great and (...kiss of death) it has been the perfect car in the 11 months I've had it. I've just come back from Links at Macclesfield via the Cat & Fiddle and I know it's 'only' standard but it was fabtastic :D I can't imagine driving anything else now.
Has anyone else downshifted (recouped some cash) and if so what did you go for? or what would you recommend up to £15K?
It hurts just thinking about it :bash:
It's either that or has anyone got a highly paid job for me

Having come from an AMD chipped S4 avant (320bhp) with RS4 suspesnion, its a reasonable option. I miss the torque over my stock RS.

The only thing about S4 is it simply doesn't have anything like the look of the RS. But you can get one hell of a car for 15K and less.

Thanks for the 'offers' and admit that S4 + mods would be a good economical option - just feels a bit too close for comfort.

I downgraded from an RS4 to yet another S3 due to conversion work needed on my new house - however I still have my eye on RS4 residuals as I really miss the car and would have another tomorrow!
M3 CSL - Silver Grey, a few options.

Just back from Devon viewings and the lodge wasn't all it was cracked up to be so no hurry to sell the RS! Lovely drive on Devon A roads.
Passed MOT again last week without any problems but does need new front discs/pads (might do AP/movit)
Would definately need something bigger like Allroad if we do find something down there.
sitas3 - you've got your work cut out keeping your eyes on residuals as they seem to be all over the shop at the moment - anything from 21-33K. We also have plans in for an extension so either way I don't think my RS has long to stay.
