I have it & I love it

Post by craigw1 » Thu Sep 01, 2005 9:56 am

picked up the RS4 yesterday & I love it, doesnt feel quicker than the Maserati, maybe a different type of power delivery.

Really solid & virtually mint condition & a great deal to boot.

The only things I have noticed are a squeaking over my right shoulder towards the back of the car (inside the cabin), maybe the luggage cover ??

also, an occasional slight thud when you boot it? the rear diff mayeb? I have a full audi warranty so sortable, any clues ?

great car, love it.

Congrats on the car. The squeaking could be the rubber door seals.

Get some Holts door rubber spray. It'll do the job.

What Maserati did you had, the 3200GT ? Would love to hear some commnets about the Maser Vs RS4
Did the Maser gave you any reliability problems?
Thanks

Yep, I had a 3200GTA. it was a brilliant car, I was lucky, virtually 0 problems & I had it 2 years & 15000miles. It was bloody fast, made a great noise & got comments constantly, all good I hasten to add. 4 proper seats & a good boot.

If you're interested there is loads of buying advice on the ferrari forum on pistonheads.com

I bought well, with a warranty & it didnt cost me much to run at all. I'd advise always egtting a warranty & dont buy a pre 2001 car or anything that looks cheap, they are v costly if things go wrong.

re the maser vs RS4, I havent driven the RS4 enough yet. Straight line speed up to about 150 the maser is quicker I am certain, even if not on paper it feels quicker.

However, at vmax I seem to remember the remapped RS4's were faster.

Is that _the_ Craig of vmax? I assume it might be..... you always had a twinkle in your eye when the RS4's pulled up on the start line. I'm Phil, the guy with the Silver RS4, often seen with Andy and his assortment of "How the hell did you get an MOT for that!!" cars.

Good to see that you have seen the light

Try removing the rear roller blind. Also the rear seat pins can sometimes squeek simply fold the seats down to see if it goes away.
