H&R PSC

Post by RS4_Barry » Tue Mar 15, 2005 10:56 am

Determined that I must do more track days this year but I'm beginning to wonder if the psc H&R stuff is up to the job or whether it's just my kit is gubbed again and has to go back to bilstein again under warranty. At the weekend was at an amateur track outing at knockhill which is a pretty demanding circuit on any car but the car felt wallowy and under damped. (especially under braking) Eventually I was running max settings on front and rear and still found the car to be very unstable under braking ( I thought the h&r kit was supposed to have an anti dive feature?).
Any opinions on any other kits perhaps better suited to the car or is this a great kit and mine is just knackered? Have tried KW variant 3's but the rears don't fit due to the movits although they have offered to modify a set of rears to fit..... any other suggestions?

Somebody showed me the above picture just to show how much the front end dips - hardish brakinng frrom around 135-75mph - I'm reckoning the H&R stuff is knackered.

Agreed Prawn,

Stasis is excellent if budget is allowed, plus time and work to go ordering that kits.

Ohlins, ultimate system for quality road usage and constant tack competition proven.

crikey that suspension kit can't be right surely? you're nearly grounding the front on that pic!
M3 CSL - Silver Grey, a few options.

Exactly what I'm thinking!
The H&R PSC kit uses bilstein dampers I reckon they are leaking again (they've already been back twice!)

is it adjustable for both rebound and compression
Front yes, rear no.
Advantage with them is that they use digressive damping, ie shim stacks that give different damping rates for high speed bump/rebound (ie potholes) and low speed (ie corners/braking).
Also allow you to run much stiffer springs 750/650lb/in in mine, which give more body control , less dive etc.

Its not cheap but I do not think you will get a better setup on the RS4.
