If you still intend to convert an RS4 to LPG, you could do a lot worse than talk to JE Engineering in Coventry. Their reputation is based on high performance conversions on Range Rovers and Land Rovers, but they have a wealth of experience on LPG conversions. JE were responsible for designing the 3.9 V8 for Land Rover, which demonstrates that they are true "engineers" and totally understand the dynamics of performance engines. The boss there is a guy called Jonathan Douglas, a really nice guy and well worth talking to. The last time I was over there, he had a bunch of RS4 components from MTM kicking around, including a rather nice carbon fibre inlet manifold. Incidentally, he also supplies most of the F1 grid with air filters from another company he owns called ITG.
If anyone can get an LPG conversion working correctly on an RS4, he can.
Cheers

insurance can be a nightmare - i've had my S4 and RS4 with admiral since i got it - last year on the rs4 was £650 fully comp class 1 business use... im 31 with 5 yrs bonus & no points etc.. and my bro's also on the policy (26 5 yrs bonus, no points)

Tried Audi's own insurance and they wouldnt cover me without a tracker! and refused to cover my bro!

oh dont tell him he's covered or he'll want to drive it!

go for the new 3.0 tdi. in real world driving its not much slower on the road as my old 4.2 s4 and as long as you don't mind paying extra for the deeeesil (why hasn't that come down in price like the petrol???) you get decent mpg eg 1500m in and 35mpg(+/-) compared to 12-18 i was getting, and, you can fit a tow bar something i could never get from anywhere!! and its not chipped yet(+50bhp+50lb tq)

After reading an article in article in Audi driver a couple of years back I half toyed with the idea of LPG for my S4.

The article was on a Swiss company's LPG kit installed on a 2.7V6 Allroad. From memory they had pretty much the same performance. So there is at least one company offering a kit for the twin turbo beast.

Now that really would make the S/RS thee all round car. Performance and economy

If your getting LPG speak to Will Putter at "Alternatech" (or something, they have a website), his company do the conversions and they are ultra reliable. They run a car in a touring league and he himself has done his own S4 and R32 golf. He offered to do my S4 (after I bought a boat from him), if it lost any performance he would reverse the conversion with a complete refund.

Having said that, if it is seriousely cheap motoring you are after, buy an old diesel, throw a mix of vegetable oil and meths in and away you go. Top Gear did a bit on this and they got the cost down to about 40p/gallon and the performance was exactly the same as running on std diesel....

On the insurance front, I am 31 and pay £550 year fully comp for my S4, my wife is on the policy and she is 25. Try direct line.
