RS4 newbie looking for direction!

Hi Audi Family!

I'm currently in ownership of a minty b6 s4 with some light jhm mods. I'm finding myself sorely missing forced induction and the potential power that it brings. Thus I have come to realize I may be better suited to an rs4 rather than the v8 models.

As next year approaches, it looks like attaining a rs4 from Germany may be possible. Thus starts my search on information regarding the importation... And also tuning questions etc.


Before you rag on me for not searching... I have been attempting this! Please point me in the right direction!

1. Info on importing from Germany to Canada?
- any previous experiences?
- is there duty now that Canada and the Eu have a new trade agreement?
- my vague understanding is that it is cheaper to ship from Poland to Halifax. Roughly 1200-2000cad?
- paperwork involved to release said car from the motherland.
- paperwork involved as it arrives? I hear some sort of crash test ratings or safety requirements have changed, regarding s4's. Would this be applicable to Rs4's? Maybe...
- obvious some of this is going to come up when the car becomes of age (15 years) and I'll contact transport Canada.

2. POWER
- what are the main tuning companies regarding rs4's. MTM? Is it usually independent tuners?
- what are the common routes for power gain. I'm looking for around the 400-450whp with shitty Canadian 94 octane. ( think American 94... Then lessen that. By a significant amount.)
I'd rather not use meth, so I'd want a safe tune to what ever number I get.

- I assume upgraded turbos, rs6 or otherwise? What else? Where can I find this info?

3. needed or addressed areas?

- bbk? I hear they have bad braking.
- suspension, is the dampening not so hot?
