[Q] Anyone know this Audi RS4...
[Q] Anyone know this Audi RS4...
Hi All,
Am currently interested in purchasing Y252 YCR from an Audi Dealer.
I was wondering if anyone on here knows the car? This is quite a small community so I may be in luck. I just want to know if it is a good one or not....
If anyone does know the car they can PM if they don't want to post here. I will not disclose any information I am given without permission.
Thank for your help,
--Roger

RAC check says:
Y252 YCR is yellow audi estate, manufactured 1/6/01, 2 previous keepers, last owner change 23/10/03. No info on model. which could be an import.
Do recognise reg though. or is this the low mileage Avus silver one 13/14k miles advertised up in Scotland? for about £37k. As the same one is also being sold by Torness(sp) on Auto trader. Reg now blanked out.
sorry if dosen't help

No sig, no RS4 anymore
opps..just seen the one that you refer to.
The RAC check could be wrong on the colour and on the lack of model info. Having checked out others cars with their manufacturers with the VIN, they should tell you whether this may be the case. Note: nothing wrong with imports - just think its fair to know (having nearly been 'caught out' myself)
Having sold mine recently....I tempted to jump back on board.
Good luck

Ohhhhhhhhh Dear.........................
After the post above by Kennyboy, I contacted the dealer this morning, and bluntly asked the question.....
Me : This car is Red isn't it...........
Dealer : Yes it is
Me : It is a UK car isn't it........
Dealer : I will have to check.....
1hr later....
Voicemail at work....
"What I was going to propose to do was fax over the registration document with all the details on there so that it will confirm everything for you....
However there is one thing which we have already contacted the DVLA about, bizarrely on the Registration document, the car is down as Yellow and it Red, it has been sorted at this end, the vehicle has not had a respray.. and it is an error at their end. And they will change the registration document when it is registered to the new owner...
End 'Quote' (The above quote is not quite accurate, quite a lot to type from the voicemail)
Interestingly too, he did not say whether it was a UK car or not, he only said he would send me a copy of the Registration document.....
HOW ON EARTH can one of these cars get registered in the WRONG colour and go for 3.5yrs incorrectly.........................................
Should I now beat a quick retreat or beat the dealer up a bit more to get the car cheaper... Obviously this sort of thing will show up will it not if when I come to sell the car, other people start running checks......
Help!!!!!

I think pretty much all the Avus ones were listed as purple, mine a number of others that I know of were. Basically purple is the main ingredient for Avus Silver. My first RS4 was Avus, but when the docs came back from the DVLA it was Blue

Kenny, if you want it back mate bell me; 4 new tyres, same price as you sold it to me
. I need to cash in to get 2 cars instead of one - one of which needs to be a turbo-nutter tactile go-kart...
PS failed to get DVLA to change a top of the range car from an 'LX' on the V5, despite faxing orig sale docs etc... Just REALLY check the car...

Went to see this car just out of interest on Wednesday. It is the same one that i test drove about 18 months ago.
This car has been re-spayed down the left hand side, if anyone is considering it (overspay on the alu trim). The dealer could not explain why.
I asked the dealer if it was an improt and he replied straight away that it was.
The interior is in a right state, dents in the leather rear seats from a child seat and scuff marks and mud all over the rear of the passenger seat. Oh and a boot full of dog hairs. The front ashtray is also jammed.
The dealer could do himself some big favours if he actually gave this car a clean before puttig it on the forcourt.
One to keep clear of i think as there are much better cared for examples out there
