RS4 virgin defrocked

Post by Desmo » Sun Nov 28, 2004 9:50 pm

Folks

I took the plunge with all your advice and bought the one with the special (blue metallic) paint job and vanilla (light caramel cream colour) interior. Its everything you all rave about. I've had it just a couple of weeks now - look out for me on the M4 betwn Docklands and Reading. Love it to bits especially when it rains! Its debadged and has already surprised a couple of bullies. A couple of queries i) is there anyway of improving the telly reception? ii) has anyone got experience of West Tuning's ECU tweak and can the dealer really not detect it - they say they can't?

Glad you like it :D

Do you ever get a decent picture on the TV? Mine is pretty variable but totally understandable as it is in a car

West tuning, is it their own code, or someone elses? There is not a great deal of tuning that is completely undetectable - perhaps none, but I'm sure some is easier to find than others.

Got any pics yet?

Cheers

Ben

i presume the TV is analogue too, so will not work once the UK converts to digital signal only?

I think it should be possible to build in a digital receiver -there are some sort of AV-connections IIRC. Then you'd have perfect picture quality. Anyone here done it?

Hadn't thought about the usual telly reception issues, so I assume the variable quality is pretty standard amongst everyone with SatNav +?

Has no one got any experience of West Tuning?

Ben, will try to take some digi photos at the weekend. Cheers

Can't say I recall anyone mentioning much about West. Know they get some decent figures out of the new Mini but that's it.
People tend to stick to the usual suspects i.e. MTM, AmD(Sportec), Revo etc.

Cheers

I'm one of Ray's customers. Very impressed by him. He fitted my H&R kit recently and I will be returning in the New Year for his ECU remap and the latest spec Milltek to go on. Aswell as getting the 996C4S to release a little more power and noise :)
Tried AMD initally, really like Ed's approach, unsure about the rest of the team, so left them with just Quickshift fitted (2nd time lucky there!)
I've tuned my BMWs at Birds and am very comfortable with tuning my cars if I trust the people. Ray and his team fit that bill perfectly. I had the cheapest car there, Nobles and Ferraris were dominating when I was there and everyone had nothing but praise for his efforts, all owned by enthusiasts and returning customers.
Went to QSports and Kim took me out in a customer's stage III car, just fimd their prices a bit strong compared to Ray.
He is also a guru with braking systems, AMD use his spec kit, so I'd be very comfortable to head to Thruxton.
Just don't be put off by his premises, his plans for new site are awesome!

You never really learn to swear until you learn to drive.

RS4 - as standard as the day it was born

I stand corrected.

Perhaps it has been discussed after all :D
