RS4 Buying Advice Please
RS4 Buying Advice Please
Have been offered an RS4 for £25000 and i'm seriously tempted, what should i look for???
It's Avus silver, hi-tech cloth, satnav/tv 67,000 miles
My only concern is the mileage, should i be worried???
Next problem..... how do i convince the missus??

Firstly I'd look for your cheque book
Secondly I'd check this forum by using the search facility and the recent sticky post at the top of this forum.
Thirdly I'd check out history/spec with Audi UK on 0870 0105671
Fourthly I'd post your comments on the car here so we can all take a view on what you have found.
Finally I'd not worry about the milage. We have a members car here with nearly 100k more than the one your looking at! If you're worried about the milage, then pay more for one with less.
£25k for a straight RHD UK car with Nav+ is a bargain in my opinion.
Where in Essex are you? I'm in Brentwood.
Cheers
Ben

I'm in langdon hills,
I'm going to look at it tonight, it's been offered through a friend who runs a Leasing Co. it's come back off lease and they are looking to sell it. This apparently is the CAP trade price.
Unfortunately it was not on a service agreement and so the owner has been responsible for the maintenance.
Looking around it seems a v.good price!
My mate hasn't seen it yet either so not sure how straight it is, will let you know.

The only issue would have been warranty wise, which I can presume it's out of anyway. Audi UK will have nullified it anyway if it had not been serviced by them.
If you get chance, by all means give me a shout and pop over in the car and I'll have a peek.
I'd want to see evidence of all serviced upto 50k and importantly that the cam belt was done at 40k.
Cheers

Just tracked down the company who leased the car, it was the MD who had it and he has reassured me that it was looked after regardless of cost although at the last service they did tell him that there was un-burnt fuel in the pistons??
Apparently he asked about buying it himself at the end of the lease and was offered it at £29500 ! ! !
Is this just a ECU / fueling problem or could it be more invovled than that.
Would it be worth getting an RAC/AA inspection?

Well despite what i was told about the condition i'm gonna give this one a miss.......
The bumper looks like someone has shot it several times with a shotgun and there are four or five chips on the bonnet that have rust on then one has a bubble thats the size of a 5p! Inside was pretty tidy except.
So that's probably around about a £1000 straight off.
Two new tyres,
Tax
MOT
Brake discs are showing signs of wear
Small rip/hole in rear seat
I'd would have had trouble convincing the missus anyway but if i turned up in this the old gattling gun would have come out!!
I think i'd rather pay a bit extra to find a loved one....
Thanks for the advice and help.

What planet was the MD on. Rusty bonnet, ripped seat. What a time wastingAndrewG wrote:Just tracked down the company who leased the car, it was the MD who had it and he has reassured me that it was looked after regardless of cost.
Your wise to give it a wide berth. Who knows when the turbos are about to give up. But hey if you had the facilities to fix and maintain a car like this then the price is ok.
