Bushy, Not sure how much they knocked off for getting the 3 RS4s done at the same time but meant we could split the travel costs by 3. JohnW organised it just used my garage to do them all in. Having my CSL done next Tuesday

Yep, I am not sure we actually got any price off the armourfend itself, just split the travel/fitting costs as John says.
If you try an archive search for posts by me back around last July/August, you'll probably find the prices we were quoted as I'm sure I did post them up.

The other option is to take your car to them for fitting...

I had the front bumper, both side cills, rear wheel arches, and the top of the rear bumper done.
Not sure now if John had all these same areas done (rear arches & bumper ?).
No doubt the receit says what was fitted though.

Cheers,
John.

We all had the same done IIRC came to just under £420 inc. We got 15% discount on parts. Travel charges £70 got spli 3 ways.

I had the whole front bumper done again (thaks John for use of garage) as I had a new bumper fitted. I paid £340 just for the front. So with the group discount and travel charges split; what we got was a good deal.

cheers

Kenny

Am I missing the point here, but does this stuff cost as much as a respray and doesn't seem to last as long as the original paint. By that I mean I wouldn't expect to paint a car for 5+ years? You guys seem to be on your second layer for cars that can't be older than 3.5-4years? Are you a bunch of tailgaters

Can you simply remove the film without risk of removing the laquer?

Golich, The CSL has Carbon Fibre front bumpers and flippers which seem to be more prone to chipping and when it does it shows through white which looks very unsightly. Also the flippers are not painted but coated in clear laquer so would prefer to be safe than sorry.

Sounds great and the steering is fantrastic with the Cup tyres. Ride is fine but still have to keep under 5K revs so no fireworks yet!!

John, Moving off thread here, but a comparison would be welcome between the SL55, CSL and RS4 (MTM Stage 3), when you are ready.

Golich,

Kenny had to have his redone due to a new bumper being fitted. Sure, a respray might be cheaper, but this film stops all the small chips, and given that I'm normally driving country roads covered in cr@p, or up & down the motorway, my car gets dirty very quickly.

I'd prefer to have the film than have paintwork done with all the potential problems of not getting a good finish, or a good colour match.
The film is a bit like a comfort blanket - it just makes me feel happier

Cheers, :beerchug:

So I take it you can have the film removed without damage to the laquer? If that's the case yes its a definte

Ahhh, now your asking

Well in theory yes you can, if you use a hot air gun to soften the adhesive. However...
Firstly this may leave a residue that you would need to polish out, and
secondly, I understand that other (JR ?) know of owners that had the film removed to find small knife marks in the paint where the edge of the film had ben trimmed.

I'm not sure why you'd want the film removed really.

Best bet is to contact Armourfend and ask them the questions. Please don't take our word for it as I'd hate for you to take the plunge on our advice and then not be happy with it.

Cheers, :beerchug:

I understand - Like most things - all advice is typically an opinion.
