Revo Upgrade?

Hi
Having owned a standard RS4 for a about 6 months, I have now decided to go for the Revo upgrade with the security option, but....... before I spend the dosh, I thought I would do one final (sanity) check with you guys.
Is it the one to go for - better/same as those offered by AMD & MTM? Detectable/removable
effect engine/turbo's detrimentaly
fuel consumption change (not that important, just curious)
Any other info
Also about to change tyres (currently on Goodyears which I dont rate) so a recomendation there would also be great.
I realise this info is probably all buried away within the forum somewhere, but I just have'nt the time to read it all...!

Each to their own.
Lots and lots of reading to be done and I think you'll find happy owners on all camps.
The offerings from AmD and MTM don't come in the format of serial port tuning (yet) so use the traditional chip out method. Revo has this advantage at the moment.
I'm sure no chip is 100% un detectable but they'll have to know where to look.
I've only experienced the Sportec chip and can say that it is pretty darn good

MTM gives me 21mpg on a run drops to around 18.5mpg when "playing with it"???? No complaints as far as reliability and fuel costs.
Swapped the Potenzas the other week for the new Dunlop SP Sport Maxx (new tyre from Dunlop) 195 squid a corner. Very quiet and loadsa grip.
Chip change WILL provide grin factor 10 driving!!!

i to bought a nagaro blue RS4 about 6 months ago and like you i have been wanting to tweek but didnt really know were to start.
So I went for the slightly cheaper option of the latest Revo map, wow what a difference makes a whole new car, some people dont rate it but im really chuffed with the way the car feels. after you get it fixed worth getting a dyno test done to see what it is doing! 4th gear is fantastic 80 -120 seems to be so quick.
1 Word of warning the standard brakes really struggle with the new increased power! And that is expensive!
Regarding tyres, when i got my car i was a little disapointed with the handling it swerved all over the road under acceleration and felt very unsafe. I had Goodyear f1's on the car as these were the tyres on it when i bought it. Last week I changed tyres to Conti sport contact II I know the tyre from having a porsche and always found them to be good, wow again talk about a new car, no diping on the road, no talk steer amazing my car has just turned into the car I wanted due toa simple change of tyres.
The next stage for me is a full dyno test, tanoga short shifter and new dump valves for this i am going to use kim collins at qst. I dont live far from them so I popped over and had a chat with him and he was really helpfull and inspired. qst didnt seem to rate the revo upgrade so the dyno test will let me know what damge, power increase etc it is doing, I will let you know what the results are.

Just out of interest how much did you pay for the REVO and where - are all REVO upgrades and SPS3's priced the same throughout the country - and RS246 discount available ?

Yeh watch those tyres I am led to beleive that the f1's being directional are not that good and the technology is a bit dated, good luck if you fit them, they do look dam sexy I know but really didnt rate them.
I had the revo upgrade done at a garage called wheelbase in hersham surrey and it cost £899 + vat, but this does not give you the sps3 that is an optional purchase and cost 400 -500 more so i didnt think that it was worth it at this point.
I will let you know what kim says about the revo upgrade they are also fitting the short shifter and from what i can tell it makes a whole lot of difference to the car.

Interesting to hear that Kim didn't rate the REVO - why?
Re - F1s they have transformed my RS from the old P-zeros which were seriously bad for tramlining and made the car very twichy. So it wouldn't take much to improve the handling. I've only got experience of one week on the F1s as my RS is being rebuilt as I type for the last two weeks but so far I'm very happy with them.

i find the revo very good and am sure if you speak to phil he can sort out a deal,i have the sps 2.the fuel consumption is no different around town,not sure about motorway driving.the car is very slightly smoother as standard but i supose this should be expected with more boost.

I too, am very curious as to why Kim does not rate the revo upgrade. Could it be for purely biz reasons? If so, seems a tad churlish - however I guess it would be difficult to do the MTM stage II & III without doing stage I.
BTW, do the short shifters make that much difference? - and which is better UUC or Tonago?
