Which Suspension? & Sportec Wheels

Post by bem_ho » Thu Jan 23, 2003 10:27 am

I am looking at upgrade the OEM suspension to an aftermarket setup. There are many brands on the market and make my really confused. Can you give me some recommendation??

Also, I would like to install a set of Sportec Mono Wheels. Does any of you have them on your car?? Does the 15ET changes the behavour of the car?? Do the spacer well match to the wheels?

Thank you for your input in advance!!

I have ordered some sportec wheels and Andioo is the only guy i know who has them on his car at the moment

Suspension, just gotta be Quattro GMBH

Tried H&R but couldnt live with it, the GMBH one is very close to std for ride but handles very well when put under pressure

cheers
Can't beat a bit of boost!

I run the Sportec 10x19's offset 40 with a 30 profile tyre, along with the Sportec suspension - pretty stiff, but suits me just fine Image

My choice is MTM bimoto wheels 19x9.5 with Yoko's AVS 265/30-19 and Bilstein PSS9, for me they are best.

It all depends on your budget. I am running the "coil over" suspension set from ECS. It´s bilsten shock with HR springs.

It´s around U$1200 with shipping and it´s very nice. Sometimes it gets dangerous, because the handling is improved so much. :P
In the city the suspension it´s only a bit firmer than stock.

I'm about to go the Quattro Gmbh Route. You cant beat OEM out of the box no fuss.

My RS4 is getting right now the H&R treatment with height adjustable coil-overs and anti-roll-bars, getting the car tomorrow, I hope... Still waiting for my new summer tires so I can fit new wheels under the new suspension BBS CH 8.5" x 19" is my choice

I am running Sportec 19x10's offset with 20mm Sportec spacers, 265/30 P7000 and Quattro Gmbh suspension.

Handling is great on an even surface (Motorways, A & most B roads), gets a bit of a handfull over a bumpy surface (back Country lane stuff) at high speed.

Clearance can be a problem with the wrong tyre combinations and if you have the horrible speed bumps, you have to either slow down to almost a stop, or if there the pyramid with the top cut of style risk grounding the exhaust unless very carefull.

Regards.
