Hi there,

my RS4 is a 2001 and still under warranty. Audi have had a majot headache with it regarding battery power drain. It has failed twice. I have a Navtrak system fitted but this was ruled out as an issue. At the same time my radio FM reception died. After 3 weeks of poking about, Audi found a fractured plate in the CD changer "cupboard" in the boot. This plate was part of the antenna system and also had the capability to leak power ( I know, not very technical..). They replaced this and I've had no problems since.

i would like to stick to audi parts
Audi don't make batteries, so don't be afraid to buy an aftermarket battery from a reputable manufacturer like Varta or Sonnenshein (+ others) . Just make a note of the A/hr, max crank load and terminal types and you can't go wrong. I bought one recently for my S4 for around £60.

interesting. Since I pulled out my Alpine CD changer & sat nav unit to get access to replace a rear bulb, my radio doesn't work any more, don't pick up nowt. I must have dislodge something there then.

Also I had to get a jump start after 2weeks non-use a few months ago and also a jump start a few days ago. Basically after a 70 mile drive, parked the car and turn on the igintion. (air con going & also some tunes) after 20mins, everything died and needed a jump start. Won't have anything on now without the engine running.
No sig, no RS4 anymore
