Re: Petrol Consumption
My old man averages about 24mpg on a standard driving like a poofter with the occasional burst of welly.
When driven like a bastard I think the best I've seen is about 4.8mpg
Rock on

No sig, no RS4 anymore
Re: Petrol Consumption
They know all right, no problem there. Only wanted an extra £50

Re: Petrol Consumption
I seem to be getting 22mpg in mixed driving as I get used to the car, just 900 miles covered so far. Wondering if mild ECU upgrade would improve the mpg as it has done on my 996 and existing E39 540i. Tempted by the AMD Stage II though.
Cheers,
James

Re: Petrol Consumption
Look, who cares. Stand back and just look at the car. Admire the cool looks, forget about the fuel consumption! If your worried about that, buy a low cc day car.
(mind you, our fuel is much cheaper than yours! so im less concerned)

Re: Petrol Consumption
We all know an RS4 is not the car to buy for economy and as you correctly point out, the car looks so good just sitting
If you want real economy, try a Golf GTTDi, wife's previous car will do 68 mpg, and 600 miles on 55ltr fill but nobody will give it a second glance

The RS4 was pretty economical compared to the SL55

Re: Petrol Consumption
Fuel tank on the A4 is 62 litres. On the S4 and RS4 it is 60 litres. Based on my measurements over the last few weeks, my DIS gives an average mpg reading which is 2 mpg higher than actual!

Re: Petrol Consumption
Over the last 5000 miles of mixed driving mine has averaged 21.7mpg and has now gone down to 21.4mpg with the Revo code on, but boy is it a better car to drive with the code on!

The price of fuel is not the problem, nor the full cost of running a RS4, its more 'is the engine running correctly' as I am coming up to 36k miles, and over the last few cold weeks have found a large drop in petrol consumption.
Have been thinking dirty injectors, worn plugs that sort of thing, but everyone seems about the same.

Re: Petrol Consumption
Also looking at the AMD ecu upgrades either a stage 2 or 3,anyone advise on suitabilty of these? ta
Re: Petrol Consumption
I may just be being a bit cynical, but if fuel consumption concerns you why buy an RS4?
Re: Petrol Consumption
Before i go to AMD was hoping to get some feedback about the pros and cons of either the stage 2 or 3 upgrades, the fuel consumption is just one of many queries i have before i decide what to go for? any thoughts?
