Interior rebuild

Post by RS4KID » Thu Sep 02, 2010 3:52 am

I decided its time to rebuild my interior..it all started from the hanging roof as i was taking it off some of the plastics literally crumbled. I have taken it all apart. I didnt realize the seats were that heavy especially the rear seats. these seats have to go!

So here is the plan: Carbon bucket seats for front and may be no seats at the back:) ..still contemplating.., carbon fibre trim, new plastics all around, new roof, sound proof and sound system.

Question has anyone retrofitted B7 RS4 door panels, central console with the aircon control switches?

Cheers

Not seen it done. Would expect the shape of the doors to be different. Would love to be proved wrong and see the results though.

If you go for proper sound proofing, you'll probably find that weighs about the same as the difference in the seats you would be replacing. Ash over on SRS is currently doing a mammoth audio install in his RS4. He said it took 2 guys to carry the Dynamat to his car. Just as well he's upping the power to cope with the extra weight! Build thread is here (audio install from page 4) - http://audisrs.com/ftopic10743-0-asc-60.php

Hi,

Can anyone tell me the part numbers of the central hand rest? I ordered something but i only got lower part of the hand rest and metal arm no cover and i am not sure how to fit it. So I am guessing i got wrong parts. Anyone?
